The ever welcoming city of Stockholm is proud to launch their brand new lesbian and gay portal and blog. This is where your readers and followers can connect with what the city has to offer for LGBT travellers.

Facebook page:

Stockholm has given the world gay icons for hundreds of years, from ”Queer” Queen Kristina in the 17th century to modern day icons like Abba, Greta Garbo, Lisbeth Salander, Robyn and TV’s True Blood’s vampire Viking, actor Alexander Skarsgård - we're pretty much a gay icon too. It's time to for the UK to upgrade its city break to a stylish, cultural and cosmopolitan destination just a mere 2.5 hours flight away.

These are some of the highlights for 2013...

Don’t deny it, you’re a fan. From retro-Eurovision, to West-end revival, you can’t help but sing along to Sweden’s favourite foursome.

ABBA, The Museum will become the home of ABBA’s collected works, set to be showcased in a contemporary, musical and interactive exhibition that allows the audience to get close to their favourite band.

Calling all fashionistas - From June 15-September 22, Stockholm’s Arkitekturmuseet will present ‘THE FASHION WORLD OF JEAN PAUL GAULTIER: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk’, the first international exhibition devoted to the celebrated French couturier.

Stockholm Pride is something unique. The largest Pride festival of the Nordic countries and growing in strength, this year sees its 16th anniversary. Previous supporters have included Margaret Cho, Eurovision winner Loreen, Jedward and a host of other fantastic international acts. Guaranteed fun times!

The Stockholm Gay and Lesbian Network and Visit Sweden UK are proud to present Swedish electropop artist LIZETTE in London. She will be performing at ONE LOVE event at the Cafe de Paris on Thursday 28th May.

Lizette, who is bisexual, will be flying the flag for Sweden and Stockholm and be giving away a 2 night holiday for two in Stockholm. Attendees can enter by "LIKING" Gay & Lesbian Stockholm facebook page on the night.

2012 marks the 25th anniversary of NAT and as part of our birthday celebrations we are honoured to announce our 25th Birthday Red Ribbon Art Auction. Featuring 30 pieces of original artwork donated by high profile supporters such as Annie Lennox, Gok Wan, Dr Christian Jessen, artists including Maggi Hambling, Rob Ryan, Bill Pryde and Robert Taylor, and designers such as Paul Smith, Matthew Williamson, Philip Treacy and Giles Deacon, each artwork has been created using the iconic red ribbon, the international symbol for HIV awareness and support, as its central motif.

These original images - which were displayed at our Spring Awakening event in May and our recent Parliamentary Reception - are now going to be auctioned. The online auction will run from 30 October until 7 December 2012, with winning bids to be announced that day. All proceeds will support the vital work being done by NAT, the UK's leading charity dedicated to championing the rights of people living with HIV and campaigning for change.

Following the public viewing, we are inviting a select group of NAT friends, supporters and the media for informal drinks at Lo Profile between 6.30pm and 7.30pm that evening - and it would be wonderful if you could join us.
